Over 50,000 people in Latin America have converted to Islam within the past 10-15 years, said manager of Latin America pavilion in the International Quran Exhibition in Tehran on Saturday.

Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA.ir), Over 50,000 people in Latin America have converted to Islam within the past 10-15 years, said manager of Latin America pavilion in the International Quran Exhibition in Tehran on Saturday.

Mohammad Hassan Rabbani said that the Latin American people are, in many aspects,  very similar to the Iranians especially on the cause of fighting against the world arrogance.

Rabbani who is also responsible for informatics affairs of the Eastern Thought institution added the institution supports 30 Islamic centers in Latin America with writing, translating and publishing Islamic books to Spanish and Portugese languages.

He went on to say that establishment of the greatest Shii website in Spanish language, publishing a weekly which analyzes political, cultural and Islamic development in Spanish, dispatching native preachers to Latin America and recruiting active indigenous people from Latin America for researching Islamic sciences are among other activities of the institution with the aim to attract and promote religious sciences in the region.

Latin America, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Bosnia, Albania, Kosovo, Turkey, Syria, Iraq, Ivory Coast, Malaysia, Indonesia and several other African countries have set up pavilions in the exhibition.
